DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF TRICHOME MIMICS USING natural polymer complexes

Using naturally sourced polymers and microfluidic techniques, here at Groningen University we create biochemical adhesives that can be applied on plants via spraying. Our topics research topics are the following:
(1) identifying suitable natural materials.
(2) formulating our mixture so it has has the desired adhesive properties for use as a plant-defense method
(3) Understanding the physical and chemical factors regarding adhesion of natural materials.
"A deeper understanding of the factors involved in adhesion and the ability to adjust parameters to suit whatever needs our product has will be key in achieving our mission of creating a sustainable crop protection method."
